                                            Castings

KomTeK Technologies casting facility began operations in 1984, specializing in the production of nickel and cobalt based air melt super alloys. This facility has developed an exceptional reputation and technical expertise in the areas of aerospace products, and medical prosthetic devices.

In order to achieve consistently high standards for our customers, every aspect of the manufacturing process has to be very closely controlled. It starts with a facility designed to maintain temperature and humidity in the wax, shell, and drying departments within plus or minus 3%. It entails CAD and solidification software for the development of the manufacturing process. It involves a casting philosophy where only one heat per shell is cast at a time to guarantee consistency between heats. Our goal is the achievement of exceptionally high yield per pour versus the maximization of pounds cast per hour.

The coordination of these efforts coupled with SPC, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma for process improvement help guarantee the highest degree of dimensional and metallurgical uniformity part to part.
